Catherine Garrod

Catherine is the founder of Compelling Culture, author of Conscious Inclusion: How to ‘do’ EDI one decision at time, and guest lecturer for Executive MBA programmes at Cambridge Judge Business School.

She works with organisations to help them stay relevant, by identifying any gaps in experience for people from underrepresented and overrepresented groups. Then guides them to take action to boost the experience for colleagues, customers and communities.

Previously, Catherine led Sky to become the Most Inclusive Employer in the UK, with 80% of teams increasing their diversity.

Now as a consultant she combines the power of listening, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion, to make the complex simple. She does this by absorbing an organisation's purpose and providing practical actions that can be implemented today, tomorrow and the day after.

How we work together

  • It’s safe to ask questions and disagree to boost learning

  • We build with, not for as no one knows everything and never will

  • Diverse groups are involved in research, design and testing

  • Solutions are connected to work already happening

  • Disaggregated data informs the approach

  • We track progress and celebrate small wins

Brand story

So what’s behind the wonky crown and the letter C?

The wonkiness represents progress over perfection, because we want people to do one thing brilliantly (at a time).

Compelling Culture was born out of the many Cs to create organisations where people can do their best work; Connecting, Contributing, Challenging, Collaborating, Communicating. And the big one… Commercial.
